چکیده

Tellurium thin films were studied for use as ammonia gas sensors operable at room temperature. The films showed a reversible increase in resistance when exposed to ammonia and the response was found to be linear in the range of 0-100 ppm. The interaction of ammonia with tellurium film was investigated using Raman, X-ray photoelectron and impedance spectroscopy techniques. The results of Raman and XPS spectroscopy showed that ammonia reduces tellurium oxide present on the surface and grain boundary region of the film to tellurium. Results of impedance spectroscopy revealed that the change in resistance of the film after exposure to NH3 is mainly contributed by intragrain region. On interaction with NH3 the electrons trapped by adsorbed oxygen in the grain boundary are released which decreases in the majority carriers and thus increasing the resistance of the Te film.

Ammonia gas sensing property of nanocrystalline Cu2S thin films

Nanocrystalline semiconducting thin films of copper sulphide (Cu2S) were deposited by novel chemical route using aqueous solution of 0.1 M copper chloride, 0.05 M thiourea, complexing agent 10% aqueous ammonia (NH3) and hydrazine hydrate. The characterization and gas sensitivity of as deposited Cu2S thin film sensor have been investigated. The as deposited Cu2S thin films were observed to be ve...

ZnO Nanoparticles/Reduced Graphene Oxide Bilayer Thin Films for Improved NH3-Sensing Performances at Room Temperature

ZnO nanoparticles and graphene oxide (GO) thin film were deposited on gold interdigital electrodes (IDEs) in sequence via simple spraying process, which was further restored to ZnO/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) bilayer thin film by the thermal reduction treatment and employed for ammonia (NH3) detection at room temperature. rGO was identified by UV-vis absorption spectra and X-ray photoelectron ...

Photo-Induced Room-Temperature Gas Sensing with a-IGZO Based Thin-Film Transistors Fabricated on Flexible Plastic Foil

We present a gas sensitive thin-film transistor (TFT) based on an amorphous Indium-Gallium-Zinc-Oxide (a-IGZO) semiconductor as the sensing layer, which is fabricated on a free-standing flexible polyimide foil. The photo-induced sensor response to NO₂ gas at room temperature and the cross-sensitivity to humidity are investigated. We combine the advantages of a transistor based sensor with flexi...

Enhancement of NH3 Gas Sensitivity at Room Temperature by Carbon Nanotube-Based Sensor Coated with Co Nanoparticles

Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) film has been fabricated onto Pt-patterned alumina substrates using the chemical vapor deposition method for NH(3) gas sensing applications. The MWCNT-based sensor is sensitive to NH(3) gas at room temperature. Nanoclusters of Co catalysts have been sputtered on the surface of the MWCNT film to enhance gas sensitivity with respect to unfunctionalized CNT fil...

Gas sensing properties of conducting polymer/Au-loaded ZnO nanoparticle composite materials at room temperature

In this work, a new poly (3-hexylthiophene):1.00 mol% Au-loaded zinc oxide nanoparticles (P3HT:Au/ZnO NPs) hybrid sensor is developed and systematically studied for ammonia sensing applications. The 1.00 mol% Au/ZnO NPs were synthesized by a one-step flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) process and mixed with P3HT at different mixing ratios (1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, and 1:2) before drop casting on an Al2O3 s...
